Gatteo Mare and Cesenatico

Gatteo Mare

Established in the 1920s as a holiday resort, Gatteo a Mare is located at the mouth of the Rubicone, the river made famous by Julius Caesar.

Gatteo a Mare is a small town with much to offer its visitors, from complete relaxation to organised entertainment in its streets, from sports to excursions at sea or in the parks of our wonderful Apennines. All overlooking the beach of a clean and safe sea.

Cesenatico

Cesenatico, located 4 km from Gatteo, was founded in 1302 as a port for the city of Cesena, which is 14 km from the coast. Since then, it has never lost its origins as a fishing village in the heart of the Adriatic Riviera.

This is evidenced by its picturesque canal harbour with its colourful sails and the “floating maritime museum” that runs through the entire town. The canal harbour was designed in 1502 by Leonardo da Vinci and today attracts many visitors from all over the world.
